Located at 175 Main Street in the heart of White Plains, the restaurant specializes in fresh and flavorful Poké bowls. Poké bowls, a staple of Native Hawaiian cuisine, consist of diced raw fish with a variety of vegetables.
Dubbed by experts as the “next generation of sushi,” Poké bowls served at Chen's Poké can also include ingredients like chicken, shrimp, tofu, edamame, eel, octopus and more.
Creativity is key at Chen's Poké, since customers can select each and every ingredient that goes into their dish. This “build-your-own” style allows for endless customization options and flavor combinations. First-timers, however, may want to opt for one of the eatery’s pre-made signature items such as:
- Dragon Bowl (Eel, shrimp, octopus, cucumber, edamame, green onion and pineapple mixed with yuzu and topped with avocado, eel sauce, furikake, garlic crisps, onion crisps and shredded nori)
- Hawaiian Bowl (Chicken, shrimp, organic tofu, edamame, sweet onion and pineapple mixed with ginger sauce and topped with cabbage, spicy mayo, sesame seeds, onion crisps and wonton chips)
- Vegetarian Bowl (Organic tofu, edamame, cucumber, mango and cherry tomato mixed with ponzu sauce and topped with avocado, seaweed salad, sesame seeds and shredded nori)
Customers can also choose from savory and traditional sides like miso soup, seaweed salad and crab salad.
Despite its recent opening, Chen's Poké is off to a running start with a 4/5-star rating on Yelp. The eatery is continuing to receive praise for its unique offerings, fresh ingredients and quaint but welcoming atmosphere.
“Good, fresh ingredients. I have been twice and will continue to go. A nice addition of something different to White Plains,” writes Nicholas L. in a Dec. 7 Yelp review.
Chen’s Poké is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, visit the website and Facebook page.
